Mace of Jerrod in 2.6

Is this mace considered +5 in terms of what it can hit? I feel it should be, as most demons usually need +3 or better to hit…otherwise its special ability seems useless.

There is a demon in Ust Natha that requires +5 weapons to hit…

Yes, it is considered +5 for hitting demons and devils (anything with the race "demonic"). Standard for all of the variable-enchantment weapons in the EE, except for a couple (Equalizer, Mace of Disruption) that put an exception in their descriptions.

And ... actually, it's mostly just balors and pit fiends that require +3 to hit among demons. You can get by with +1 and +2 weapons against most fiends, although they all require magical weapons at least.

That one is a VERY special case, as there are almost no enemies in the entire game requiring +5 and this particular one is an enemy that almost no one even encounters in a fight to begin with.
