Android 11: change save location request

Hello,
In Android 11, Google made this stupid change where only the app itself has access to its Android/data/package_name_here/files folder. A file manager will not have access to that folder anymore, and I also can't seem to be able to access it via USB.
This means I can no longer transfer my save files between the PC and Android versions of BG and IWD (probably BG2 and PS:T too, but I haven't bought these yet).
Things that used to be easy before are now impossible to do, because Google has dumb ideas. I dread to think what other stupid decisions they'll make in Android 12 and later.
If the Beamdog dev team is reading this, would you be able to update the games and change the save location to something else?
For example, there is a PSP emulator, PPSSPP, which creates a simple folder "PSP" on the internal storage drive. All the settings and save states are stored there, and can be easily moved between the PC and Android, even on Android 11. Both the Android file manager and the USB file transfer can be used for this. Simple, straightforward, gets the job done.
Please let me know if I'm posting this in the wrong section, or barking up the wrong tree altogether (e.g. not post this on forums, but email a developer instead).
