Question on NPC equipment on leaving Korlasz's Lair

in Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear
Haven't played SOD in a long time, but as a break from other games I started a new game with a neutral PC.

Therefore I have Dorn, Khalid, Jaheira, Neera and Safana in the party and am about to confront Korlasz. My question is, will these NPCs keep their equipped items when I find them again after the party disbands at the end of the Prologue? Or should I unequip items from them that I want to keep, if they disappear?

    Any items in their inventory will get put in your chest. Anything they have equipped will go with them when they leave.
