Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition has stopped working

Downloaded the BG:EE installer, which gave me the 'Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition has stopped working' windows error, so instead grabbed the Beamdog installer, which installed fine. Then downloaded 1.8GB of BG:EE, which completed, however when I try to run BG:EE I get 'Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition has stopped working' Windows error as soon as I try to load it. Any advice on what has gone wrong appreciated.

Running Windows Vista 64 bit.

    Check the error log when it happens, it may say something about an atioglxx or some nvidia thing (unless you have intel). It is probably an openGL driver problem. Same thing is happening to me.

    Potentially a stupid question, but how do I view the error log? When it crashes out all I get the opportunity to do is close the crash window.

    Looks like my fourth purchase of BG was perhaps not as lucky as I hoped for!

    there should be a drop down arrow on bottom left corner of the error window. If it is a graphics problem start by updating your drivers.
