Question on NPCs I used in BGEE but did not import

DhariusDharius Member Posts: 665
Hi All

Let’s say I recruited Dorn in BGEE and travelled with him for a while in BGEE and specialised him in Long Swords and gave him many unique items to use, but did not have him in the final party who faced Sarevok, so did not import him to SOD in the party.

If I find him in SOD at Bridgefort will he be the same Dorn as the one I used in BGEE, or will he revert to the default SOD Dorn with no pips in Long Sword and default equipment?

Thanks!

Sorry this should be in the SOD forums! Please can you move it? Apologies

It will be the same Dorn. At the same level you left him, with all the same proficiencies and such.

Ok, so it might be a good idea to fill up all of Dorn’s (and all other NPCs who also appear in SOD like Baeloth and Neera etc) inventory slots with really good equipment, and NOT have them in the party when I import to SoD? This way, if I’m thinking right, they will have all this cool stuff on them when I meet them in SOD, rather than the default equipment SoD gives them if I never met them.

This way I will have a lot of decent items on the NPCs inside my party, as well as those NPCs that reappear in SoD without them being in my party, if you see what I mean?

Or maybe I’m overcomplicating this…it’s just that I would like to know how to maximise the amount of useful BG1 items I can import from a single run into SoD. Just a thought…

Or to put it another way, using all NPCs both within and without my party on import, how can I maximise the amount of useful items from BG1 to SOD?

    Thanks!
