Actively control the camera with the mouse via a toggle button. Thus allowing players to control their characters in a way similar to Dragon Age Origins.

    I've not played Dragon Age Origins, but do you mean what click-and-hold middle mouse button does?

    Basically yes, howewer instead of holding the middle mouse button the camera is always controlled by the mouse. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic does this aswell. Neverwinter Nights could have this as a toggle either with a key or in the settings, and would thus remain as an optional setting.
