Max Item Description Length?

A bit of a silly question but what is the maximum length for an item's description? I was able to paste the entirety of Gary Gygax's Wikipedia page into the description to a book (over 7000 characters) and saw no indication I couldn't add more. Probably not a serious issues but I figured it might be fun to write a few books for my module as well.

    The pre-EE limit was 8*1024 bytes, the post-EE limit is 128*1024 bytes. So.. that many characters. It's likely a lot more than anyone would ever read and wouldn't be recommended, but that's the technical limit.

    Yeah, it's a silly question after all. I enjoy reading item descriptions but I never read the books.

    Bringing this back from the dead to mention that most books appear to be about 1500 to 2000 characters long. A few are less or more than that with the most extreme book being the Time of Troubles reaching 3,815 characters and the shortest one being The Imp's Prison at 494 characters.
