I apparently sold a quest item and its irritating me, so I was wondering if anyone was able to get gatekeeper or an equivalent to work so i can give myself the item? I tried Gatekeeper and Shadowkeeper but neither works, as the save directory is not in the game directory like it seems to think.

1.) Go into your My Documents/Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition.
2.) Copy the File "Baldur.ini" The folders "Save" And if you have them "Character"
3.) Copy said folders to your Baldur's Gate: EE Install Folder (Default: C:/Program Files (x86)/Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition, etc) and place them in the Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition/Data/00766.
4.) Now open up the "lang" folders and find your language (Default: en_US) and open it. Find the dialogue.tlk file and copy it to the 00766 folder.
Your 00766 folder should look something like this: http://i.imgur.com/xgFt4.png
5.) Open up Shadow Keeper. It will say you need to find your Baldur's Gate folder. Go to your Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition/Data/00766 and choose that as your folder. Shadow Keeper will say it will need to restart, so close it and open it again.
6.) Open it up, edit your stats, and save. By Default it will make a separate save file. I suggest you do this.
7.) Copy the save folder it created (default amended with "Edited 00001") back to your My Documents/Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition/Save
Run the Game and enjoy the edits.
EDIT: Keep in mind that you should ALWAYS make back ups of your saves. Even though I've used it and it works perfectly, there's no telling what it could break later on. You've been warned =P. ♥
