BGEE Modding– M1 Mac– Permission Issues

I'm trying to install BGEE mods on my M1 Mac, running Big Sur, but I'm unable to run the setup files since I apparently don't have the appropriate access privileges. I've used Finder's Get Info function to set the mod command file, the setup file, the mod folders, the game folders, and the game app itself to "read and write" but it doesn't seem to have helped. Has anyone else had and resolved this issue?

    I've seen that permissions error message myself on an older Mac (when I tried to create my own .command files), and I suspect it's a lie. The problem is something else, which I don't understand well enough to diagnose.

    What has worked for me reliably - subtledoctor's Mac WeiDU Launcher tool. You'll have to give it permission to run because of the "unknown developer" thing, but once you do you're good.
