Health randomized when Importing to SoA?

Hello,
Scenario: Looking to import a save game file of BG:EE SoD to continue the saga on BG2:EE. Not a fancy build -- not a dual or a multi-class -- it's just a pure fighter barbarian.
What happens:
1. Import from an end-game save file: The character's base hit points are not read properly by the importer, and they get randomized. The exact result is different upon every import.
2. Choose "New Game" and from there, import from an exported character file: The same results as #1
I already investigated similar threads and the variance is not caused by worn +Constitution or +HP items.
Desktop/Steam
v2.6.6 - both games.

1. New Game
2. Create Party
3. For slot 1/6 - Import
4. For slot 2/6 - Import
5. Start a game with a party of 2
In Chateau Irenicus, the protagonist's HP (slot #1 import) is randomized as per previous post, but the companion (slot #2 import from the exact same save/file) for an unknown reason, always gets the correct HP.
That would be a final work-around from which I could continue playing, but unfortunately, the second imported character cannot become the protagonist to kick out the slot #1 import with incorrect randomized HP.
