Is HP from Constitution retroactive?

in New Players (NO SPOILERS!)
I know it is in 3.0+ and games based on it, but I don't know about 2e or BG.

    So are "Shorty Saves" that Gnomes, Halflings, and Dwarves get from high Con, if I recall correctly.

    Correct - but be aware that these are recalculated only on level ups.

    Hence why the potion of fortitude or Draw on Holy Might give you a nice bump in HP as well if you weren't already at your class cap.
