I haven't started playing yet, but one of the things I didn't like in BG1 and 2 was several times there was only 1 item that was better than another and I had to gimp party members because they had similar builds. I've heard this version has had new items placed in, if you find anything interesting list it here please.

    Well to start off Gorion drops a belt that gives 100% cold resistance but lowers fire resistance by 100%. Pretty neat addition. Definitely not overpowered, as barely anyone uses cold, and tons use fire. That's about as far as I've gotten though!
