Anyone found a bard friendly armor yet?

As the title implies, has anyone found an armor that allows for some spell flinging yet? :-)

If so, please enlighten me where I can find this precious little thing!

It's called elven chain and I don't think any exists in BG1. BG2 there were a couple of sets IIRC.

There is a mod called Song and Silence on Gibbering 3 that adds a bard equipment shop to the carnival. There is a stickied thread that shows how to get mods to work.

The issue of an elven chainmail came up during AMA, and almost immediately the Mr. Daigle gave an order to add one to BG1. So it should be there somewhere. Where exactly and in which chapter it becomes accessible... who knows? We'll just have to explore and see.

Just get a bunch of Armor scrolls or the Shield amulet or something in the mean time.

Just checked chitin.key with NearInfinity. It appears there is an unenchanted elven chainmail in the game (CHAN12), but I don't know where it is.

I suppose CLUAConsole:CreateItem("CHAN12",1) will work, once you enable debug mode as per this thread.
