Dexterity fail - Bracers/Any other help?

in New Players (NO SPOILERS!)

Hey guys,

Not technically a new player as I rampaged through BG back in the day.

Set up a new mage for BG:EE but forgot the high dexterity requirement (for slings and such). All my other stats are pretty sweet, so I'd be loath to reroll and start again.

My question - How quickly can I come across a pair of 'Bracers of Dexterity' or any other item/spell that will boost my dext?

Any other advice?

    You can get them in 15minutes in the game if you know where to go. Normally playing i gess it would take few hours.

    A slightly weak DEX for your mage won't make much of a difference in a fight at the beginning anyway, so don't sweat it. Better find him some bodyguards instead. ;)

    Yeah - I think I have the balance right for my party. Gone with Imoen, Jahera, Khalid, The new monk dude and Xan. 2 mages, 2 fighters, a healer, a thief - its like playing WoW again ;)

    Jaheria is a superior fighter to the new monk dude. By some distance too.

    Monks are bad til some time into BG2, and they gave him utterly crap stats. I have no idea what they were thinking.

    Drop the monk and pick Kivan. See enemies fall.

    Yeah I've dropped the monk and gone for the wild mage - 3 mages for the win!
