During the neera quest with the two mages I was able to use my familiar to draw attackers; thing is when the familiar is almost dead I get my mage to put the familiar back in the backpack. The thray something guards then do nothing because they are still trying to attack the familiar. Ogre and mages still switch targets so this behaviour is just from the guards.
