Unable to start a game

The game launches with no issue, but when I press 'New', the game closes with no prompt and no error messages whatsoever.
If I try to launch the toolset, I do get an error that says "Abnormal program termination", and the toolset does not launch. I've tried my hand at googling the issue with no luck. Strangely enough, this was not an issue in september of 2021, which is the last time I played the game - with no issues.

I'm running a 1080Ti, Intel 8700k, 16gb of RAM and the game is installed on an m2 drive with plenty of remaining space.
I'm running version 516.59 of the Nvidia driver
