Windows Update breaks infinity loader

Wise_GrimwaldWise_Grimwald Member Posts: 3,866
I have just installed an update to Windows 10.

My shortcut to Infinity Loader (Gog installation) disappeared.

I tried to play the game by entering the game and playing it using infinityloader but the game was broken. Modded items were no longer valid and game was ridiculously slow and wouldn't save.

Played the game using Baldur.exe and everything seems OK except that I get a complaint that I forgot to use infinityloader.exe.

Does anyone know what is going on?

Should I just carry on using Baldur.exe or should I uninstall the windows update?

Windows Defender has decided to start deleting InfinityLoader on sight. You probably need to add an exception so that it works properly. If you need to restore a deleted file, make sure to restore the same InfinityLoader version that's bundled with the EEex release you are using.

The file itself wasn't deleted, just the shortcut on the taskbar, but it does seem that the version that I have is wrong. Perhaps Gog have replaced it. ??
Perhaps I should just use my Baldur.exe file until I do a fresh installation??

    EDIT

It appears to have sorted itself out. ??? Don't underatand it!!
