[macOS 13.1] GOG version crashes when I try to enter a particular building

in Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition
I can't enter the marketplace building on the Lower Ward without the game crashing. this problem has occurred every time I have tried to do it.

although it may not have to do with mods, I have the following mods installed: "Unfinished Business — Reloaded" (version 2) (with some features not installed, such as the cheats mods), "Banter Accelerator" and "Journal Portrait Conversations". (I love this last mod, BTW. enhances the game greatly!) I don't know in which order I installed.

    update: I found this happened because I had installed "Unfinished Business – Reloaded", which I suspect conflicted with other mods.
