Unfinished Business for Icewind Dale is an old quest mod that predates the Enhanced Edition of the game.

Most of this mod was actually integrated into the official IWD:EE, but one quest component was excluded, so players who want that component in IWD:EE still need to install this mod.

The component in question adds extra steps to acquiring Marketh's badge in Lower Dorn's Deep (ch6a).

    To start the new content:
    • Follow the main story-line (ch6a) to reach Marketh in Lower Dorns Deep. Rather than immediately giving himself up like in the unmodded game, he taunts you and teleports away, forcing you into a game of cat and mouse.

    Oct 2014 — IWD:EE is released.

Afaaq, the Djinni Companion adds a joinable companion (CG Djinni Fighter/Mage) with some quest content.

As a companion, he is unusual in that he works more like a familiar (doesn't take up a party member slot; has no inventory screen; doesn't take a share of the party's experience rewards; levels up on his own), and cannot permanently die.

Afaaq's quest content consists primarily of being hunted by members of the Host Tower of the Arcane, which leads to additional combat encounters at certain points along the game's main story (ch2, ch4, ch5, HoW).
(Note that this is completely different quest content than the BG2 version of the same mod.)

    To get him to join:
    • Follow the chapter 2 main story to defeat Yxunomei, loot the djinni lamp off her body, put it in a quick-item slot, and interact with it.

Sarevok57's Mega Mod is not a quest mod per se, but it does add some memorable new combat encounters to the game – in addition to beefing up most existing combat encounters (e.g. by giving enemies new abilities and better AI) and making various rule changes geared towards power-gamers.

Unfortunately, this mod overwrites the game's data files instead of using WeiDU to patch them, and as a result is only compatible with the old IWD:EE version 1.4 (and not the current 2.x), and also not compatible with other mods.

Tale of Our Lady Dreamless adds the new worldmap location "Frozen Pond" (ch1+), which offers a quest with a short dungeon-crawl portion.

An ominous corrupting power lies over this small lake in the Spine of the World, where it has been luring people and causing them to drown. An attentive adventuring party may discover that things weren't always like this here, and that a peaceful resolution may be possible...

To get to the new area:
    • Loot the "Old Book" from the priestess of Auril in the Vale of Shadows (ch1), to mark "Frozen Pond" on your worldmap (south of Kuldahar).

Below & Below Inn adds a new quest hub to the Spine of the World: An inn serving travellers south of Kuldahar (ch1+).

It offers several shopkeepers, and a few mini-quests.

To get to the new area:
    • Talk to "Writer" in Kuldahar (outdoors, near the tavern). He marks "Below & Below Inn" on your worldmap.

    To start the quests there:
    • Widow and peace of mind: Talk to the Widow outside the inn.
    • Furry new friend!: Find a bone on a shelf in the basement kitchen of the inn.
    • That's a lot of berries!: Talk to the cook in the basement kitchen of the inn.
    • Travelling Man: Talk to Klaxar in the basement corridor of the inn.

Terror of the Skineater sends the party on a short but combat-heavy excursion to the maze-like "Dark Forest" - a gloomy place inhabited by skeletal creatures that seemingly serve a greater monster.

To get to the new area:
    • Talk to "Ellianh" in Kuldahar (outdoors, near Gerth's Equipment Shoppe). He marks "Dark Forest" on your worldmap.

Night of the Blinking Dead offers a short dungeon-crawl adventure (mid-to-late-game) that doesn't take itself too seriously.

A friendly Beholder asks the party for help with recapturing its lair, where something has gone terribly wrong...

To get to the new area:
    • A "Cute Floating Eye" appears in Kuldahar (near the fountain) once your party leader has over 160,000 experience points, and teleports you to the "Old Beholders' Lair" if you agree. From then on, you can leave and return to it via the worldmap.

The Rediscovery of Kuldahar expands the town of Kuldahar (ch1+) by adding new side-areas, characters, shops, and many mini-quests.

Most notably, it adds the "Lower Clearing" – a district of Kuldahar at the bottom of the cliff on which the main Kuldahar map is placed.

To get to the new districts:
    • Lower Clearing:
Can be entered via a new door on the main Kuldahar map.
    • Upper Kuldahar:
See the side-quest of the same name below.

To start the new quests in Kuldahar proper:
    • Lack of Charisma: Ask barkeeper Whitcomb in the Root Cellar in Kuldahar about the papers on his bar.
    • Spinters and Paws Will Never Be Friends: Talk to the 'Tamed Dog' in Kuldahar (outdoors, near the mage tower).
    • Of Boar and Tusk: Talk to the Ghost Boar who appears every night on the "Boar's Knoll" in Kuldahar.
    • In Need of a Nice Evening: Talk to Imma in the cave south of the inn in Kuldahar.
    • Strange Signs: Click the symbols on the wall in the cave south of the inn in Kuldahar.
    • Snack for a Goblin: Follow-up to "A Girl That Wants to Climb" (see below).
    • Magic Vessel: In chapter 4, the main quest takes you to Upper Dorn's Deep. Find the "Unusual

    • Upper Kuldahar: After completing the Vale of Shadows (ch1) main story portion, tell Whitcomb (in the Root Cellar tavern in Kuldahar) about Lysan.

To start the quests in the Lower Clearing:
    • The Lost Squirrel: Talk to Borwynn who stands by the upper-right house in the Lower Clearing during daytime.
    • The Arcane Book: Talk to Moonn-Teel in the Lower Clearing.
    • Mushrooms for the Hungry: Talk to Fathercrow in the Lower Clearing.

    • Telescope and the Star Atlas: Talk to "Bool, the Stargazer" who lies on a ledge in the Lower Clearing during night-time.
    • Some new fishing lure: Talk to the "Fishing Townsperson" who stands in the bottom-right corner of the Lower Clearing during daytime.

The Snowytoes Hamlet mod adds a halfling settlement to the Spine of the World (ch3+).

It offers two shops, a few mini-quests, and a short dungeon-crawl.

The dungeon-crawl leads the party to the nearby "Starpool Valley", and revolves around a black pyramid that has been causing nightmares.

To get to the new area:
    • After you've defeated the end-boss of chapter 2, "Hog Beesponge" approaches you on your way back out of Dragon's Eye and marks "Snowytoes Hamlet" on your worldmap.

    Hi ineth!

Really cool that we now have some reference about the quest mods for IWD(EE).

    Thanks for the great work!

One question: Will you also cover FindIt and ForgeIt mods by lava?

I haven't found any reference on these mods anywhere yet...

And if I decide to mod the Marketh encounter, how do I catch him after he teleports away???

    Thank you!!!
