Wand modding

I found a problem with modifying wands in Near Infinity etc.

A. The price is 20% less when trying to sell, different from other items.

B. The charges don't alter even when changing in NI??? The wand of armory 24, will always show up as 24 even if you change it to 100 charges/spell effect. Only showing the change after sale.

Wierd...

When items are placed in the campaign - in creature inventories, shops, or containers - the number of charges is specified there. The base item file has a number for the maximum possible charges, but that's only going to come into play if you sell the wand to a merchant and buy or steal it back to recharge it.

As for sale prices ... "depreciation" is a mechanic. Merchants pay less for items when they already have one or more in inventory. Also, charged items such as wands have their prices scale based on the current number of charges; the listed price in the item file is the base price for a fully charged version.

So i think the item only alters if I restart a campaign? As I mod the item during the game. The depreciation etc I know, but the data does not match other items sold, ie a PC with 12 CHA has the same shop price on my item as a PC with 20 selling the same modified wand??? It is weird.

Charisma modifiers only apply one way, to the price you pay when you buy an item. For selling to a shop, the only modifiers that apply are the shop's inherent multiplier and the depreciation modifier for already having an instance of the item in the shop.

If you've already picked up an item, or so much as visited the area in which it's found, the only way to change the number of charges on it is to edit the copy that's in your save.
