Which file contains the script for the random encounter before reaching de'arnise keep?

Each time traveling from athkatla to de'arnise keep I get waylaid by the same group of bandits. They never show up again after the invasion quest is solved. I checked the script of 'AR1300' and area codes within athkatla but found nothing for triggering the encounter. Which file should I look into?

The probability for random encounters when you travel is set in the world map file (WORLDMAP.WMP), which has all of the information about travel times and the like in its "link" substructures.

Regarding this matter, here are two such links in BG2EE:

From area 11 (City Gates, AR0020), east link 9 to area 9 (de'Arnise Hold, AR1300): Distance scale 2 (8 hours), random encounter area AR0043 (wilderness with rocks), random encounter probability 100.

From area 11 (City Gates, AR0020), east link 12 to area 13 (de'Arnise Hold, AR1304): Distance scale 2 (8 hours), random encounter area AR0043 (wilderness with rocks), random encounter probability 0.

The latter is the version of the keep that appears if you do the fighter stronghold. So, if you happen to play a fighter and take on the responsibility for managing the keep, you'll never get random encounters when traveling from Athkatla to the keep. If you don't take on that responsibility, you'll always get random encounters when traveling from Athkatla to the keep. Or from Athkatla to farther east through the keep, since it's often on the shortest routes.

What shows up when you enter a random encounter area is determined by that area's script; the SoA campaign progresses through a fixed list of one-time encounters and then just settles on repeating the same generic bandits when you finish the list.

I changed the probability in the world map and saved it to the override folder. But it didn't trigger the random encounter. And the probability from city gate to umar hill or windspear was never 0 but I never met a bandit along the travel. Guess there are other files to be modified.

The world map is one of the many files that gets a copy embedded in the save. So any changes you make to it won't be reflected in an ongoing game, unless you edit that copy (in the .SAV file).
