Possible to access original files with EE versions?

Good day! I'm wondering if it's possible to access any number of original files that aren't typically seen as being availalbe in the EE versions. Just as an example, the default character selection, as well as our most loved Abdel character, have had significant changes made. Are there any tools that I'd be able to use to find and get access to the original files from my EE versions?

Who do you have the EE version from?

The original files themselves, as part of the EE package? No. Many patches worth of updates have been applied to the game files, overwriting older versions with newer ones.

However, it may still be possible to acquire copies of the original game. I got the EE from GoG, and they have an option to download the original games as well.

Thank you for the replies. I had purchased all of the EE versions here and on Steam. Then I do have the originals from GOG, too. Just using the older default characters as an example, though, those were something that I wasn't seeing files for in the EE versions using the Near Infinity tool. It makes sense now, but I wasn't aware that the newer versions completely wiped all of the original files.
