Bit confused, need help with BG 2 EE Mods

cartesiicartesii Member Posts: 16
Greetings !

After some time i want to start another playthrough with BG 2 EE on Steam.

I want to install some mods like Rogue Rebalancing- but the shsforums seems to be down and some other addonpackages too.

Is there a common Install-Addon for BG 2 EE only? Or do i have to DL each addon and just extract it into my BG 2 EE Folder?

Thanks in advance :)

You need to download each mod separately (for EE versions). And then extract it.

For an installation you may use Projekt Infinity but I would estimate that for someone new to modding the game this might be challenging for the current state of the project. PI is especially useful if you install a lot of mods (in my "world", this means more than 50).

    Ok thank you.

Sadly the big thread of mods seems outdated and many links are broken :(

I use modded games only in the old game and play EE vanilla only, still I want to introduce some mods in my next EE walktrough.
If the number of mods is not very high and if in the mod notes there is no hint of incompatibility with other mods probably there is no problem even for who is not experienced in installing them.

Still the order the mods are installed is very important, depending on what a mod does it has to be installed before or after a mod that does something different.
So mods that change the game mechanics, mods that improve the AI, mods that introduce new classes or kits and mods that introduce new quests have a hierarchy.
At now I don't remember exactly the hierarchy, which mode types should be installed first and which later, if someone with more specific knowledge can post here the correct order the mod types should be installed it would be helpful for the OP and also for me, thank you in advance.

One can use PI's mod organization groups as a rough starting point, but a lot of the mods have individual requiurements so one still needs to tailor orders to what's actually getting installed.

@GraionDilach True, but we are not talking of installations with a lot of mods here, the OP question is very specific about installing Rogue Rebalancing and the addonpakages. I don't use that mod so I am not able to answer to his question, I posted here only because is also important to know if RR and the addon must be installed before or after quest or npc mods that the OP may or may not use and also before or after some other mods that change the game mechanics or the enemies behaviour like ScS or mods that change the magic system that again he may use or not in his installation.
Having a baseline criteria and reading each mod's readme I think that is possible to have few mods installed without problems so I asked if someone can tell exactly what that baseline criteria is. I don't know what PI's mod organization is, maybe is the answer to my question, if so please give a link to the thread that explains it, thank you.
