Stupid Project Infinity Questions

secretfiresecretfire Member Posts: 63
So, I've been peeking at Project Infinity for a month or so. I used some older variation of it...waaaaaaaaaaaaay back when, but this looks nice and very fancy. I'm familiar with weidu, manual installations, I've been playing these games most of my life.

But, that doesn't mean I'm any good at modding in big unfamiliar batches!

I have this screenshot saved of what I've done. Load order issues seem sorted out, have my mods installed, have the games in the proper places and linked in the config options (at least according to the tutorials I read) - and I don't need to unpack the DLC because I used the beamdog client for BGEE and BG: Siege of Dragonspear. (BG2EE *is* steam, but IIRC that one is fine?)

So does this all look good? Am I missing anything big? And how do I "choose game for mod installation?" A video I watched awhile back seemed to imply that EETrilogy or somesuch should appear in the top left corner, but I don't see that.

What do you want to do exactly ?
Install mods for BGEE ? For BG2EE ? For EET ? For IWDEE ?

If it is for EET, you need to put the link to your BG2EE directory in the BG2EE for EET slot and put the link to BGEE + SoD in the "Path to clean, unmodded Siege of Dragonspear game for Enhanced Edition Trilogy" slot.
You don't need to fill the others slots. Especially IWDEE have nothing to do with EET and shouldn't be filled at all.
At the top left you can indeed choose the game you want to mod with the little arrow to the right of the Bhaal icon.

Ok that might be the confusion. So when I heard clean, umodded siege of dragonspear.... I assumed it meant literally that....Siege of Dragonspear without mods.

How do I combine BGEE and SoD?

SoD is already combined with BGEE when installed (no need for DLC Merger for the Beamdog version). just put the path to your BGEE directory in this slot.
And yes, it should be without mods already installed on it.

I worked through those issues several days ago, but have run into others.

I kept hitting EET errors during install, and upon extensive googling, it looked like the problem was (according to forums on another site) - that in EET, there's a subdirectory of utilities designed for use by modders, not meant to leave in the actual *install*. Like a mod checker and mod conversion tool - so I deleted that subdirectory.

I then got much, much farther in the install, but eventually hit this error:
    [C:\Games\NearInfinity\Tools\WeiDU\249.00\weidu.exe] WeiDU version 24900
    Using Language [English]
    Using .\lang\en_us\dialog.tlk

And this is my install order (after days and days of tinkering, uninstalling, reinstalling, over and over.)

I'm sorry to ask so many questions. I swear I'm not an idiot, I've tried reading as many posts as I could, I've googled, I've read readmes. I've spent days hitting my head against this.

It says that unpausing will continue from the next component, but I'm assuming I've screwed SOMETHING serious up and should not have deleted that directory.

You don't need to delete anything in the EET mod folder.
