Bird Hunter?

I just had an odd encounter in Athkatla I don't remember seeing before.

I was in the Bridge District when a shorty (halfling I believe) came running by saying something about catching a seagull. He had words with Aerie who didn't appreciate his attitude towards birds.

Well I don't recall ever seeing this before! I have a few mods installed, really for the first time since the EEs came out. So I'm not sure if this is from a mod, or maybe because I've spent A LOT more time in Athkatla than I normally do. Whatever this little encounter was, it didn't generate a journal entry so apparently there's no quest or follow up attached to it? If its always been there, I'm amazed to still be seeing new things after over 20 years! If its a mod, well does anyone know which one and if it ties into anything else?!

    It's vanilla. Stivan has specific dialogue with Aerie and Minsc, and otherwise just says random stuff about hunting seagulls.

    As he starts down by the water where you have very little reason to go and doesn't have a wander script, he's very easy to miss. Also, he's only active during the day.

    That's awesome! Thank jmerry. It is so much fun to still be seeing "new" things after over 20 years.

    I think Stivan is supposed to represent an urban ranger, as opposed to the more rural kinds you usually see in D&D (derived from Tolkien's Strider and others).

    My impression was he was sort of a psycho who hates birds. At least Aerie didn’t like him.
