Add a glow to my character ?

SeldarSeldar Member Posts: 438
Hello,
I'd like to know if it's possible to add a glow to my character, same as some NPCs like the ghost of Ulcaster, or the chainmail we get in the Asylum in BG2... and if so, how do I proceed ?
I checked in EEKeeper but I'm really not a modder so I don't know where and what to search...
Thanks !

Glows like that are opcode 9 effects. These are normally used as equip effects of items, but there's no reason you couldn't have them as effects on a character. Make a spell or item to apply the effects, cast or activate it on the character...

The game has an order it resolves effects in; effects directly on a character like spells come after equip effects, so a glow like this on a character would override any item equip effect on the same location.

Any particular effect you're looking for?

Hum, well, don't know exactly, the mulitcolor like the chainmail of the Asylum would be funny, or like the buffoon from BG1, in the Carnival, it's like a silver glow

So, random stuff. Hmm. I've got an idea ... I think I could cook up a spell that does a random color change, and an item to cast it. As many times as necessary. I've even got a description idea, regarding an apprentice mage that invented the spell and then quit when his mentor called it useless.

Ah yep that could be cool, that's not the first time we have a unique item with weird effects in the BG series...
