Romancing healers

Someone pointed out that all the romanceable npcs in the basic game are healers (clerics and a druid). Gasp! I never noticed that.

Is there a reason for this? Or is it a coincidence?

You're bound to have at least one of them in your team - and thus less likely to miss out in all of this content.

Though the race and gender restrictions limit that. Play a dwarf? No romance for you. Play a woman, and pick a priest that isn't Anomen? Nope.

At least until the EE, which adds four more romanceable NPCs. And they aren't healers.

Yeah I’m sure the original idea was that it made having one of them in your party more likely. And it still figures into the calculus of choosing a party. Often I’ll run a female main character just to be free of those considerations.

Well, the Cure Light Wounds family of spells, like many Priest spells, do have a range of touch...
