Use buff spells as debuffs

Hi

is it possible to use these buff spells as debuffs on enemies?
all of them ignore magic resistance and have no saving throw, because they were designed to target allies.

Resist Fire/Cold - to make fire/cold immune enmies only partially resistant
Free Action - to remove haste effect from enemy
Magic Resistance - to counter magic resistant/immune enemies. also + "Lower Resistance" spell to reduce resistance to zero
Strength - to weaken 19+ strength enemies
Enchanted Weapon - become immune against all enchanted attacks with Improved Mantle
Barkskin - debuff AC

hah, i also just found out on Baldur's Gate Wiki that "Magic Resistance", "Strength" and "Barkskin" do "work"

Resist Fire/Cold: increments resistance, so no. The only player-usable spell that sets an elemental resistance to less than 100% is Aura of Flaming Death (90%), and that's caster-only so you can't use it on an enemy. There is no way at all for a player to lower any enemy elemental resistance, unless they're getting it from a dispellable buff.

Barkskin: won't help against enemies that get their AC from armor.

Enchanted Weapon: will never lower enchantment values of the creature's attacks, so no synergy with Improved Mantle. Protection from Magic Weapons is the only spell that works better when you cast Enchanted Weapon on the foe.

So, what really works, removing Haste with Free Action? 🤔

i only tested "Free Action" and it worked.

"Resist Fire/Cold" - does not work.

"Enchanted Weapon" - if i understood jmerry correctly it will only work on humanoid npcs that are using weapons. it will not work on creatures that attack with "bare hands" or enemies that visually look like they are using weapon but actually are not.

    according to baldursgate.fandom.com these work:

    "Barkskin"

    "Magic Resistance"

    "Strength"

I thought the trick of casting magic resistance on high-res enemies got fixed decades ago??
