game freezes up upon exit ("the abyss"). have to force quit to get out of game.

in Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition
I've been enjoying playing through PT:EE, and it's running quite well so far. EXCEPT for the fact that I have to force quit out of the game every time I want to exit...
Anyone know of a fix/workaround for this? It's very annoying.

    I have this issue only when playing thru GOG Galaxy.

    After launching directly from the exe, everything is fine.
