EEKeeper and adding kits

I know you are able to add a kits to a multiclass, but I've recently seen you can add Kit Effects and Kit Innates as well, effectivly making you able to play with abilities from several Kits, and this brought me to my question.

Adding Kit Effects is done on a level base. For example if I add Kit effects of a Dwarven Defender to my fighter/mage I'd do it for my current levels. But what happens when I level up? Will I have to again add effects from level 1 to my new level in EEKeeper? Should I just add effects from the new level or will that somehow overide the old stuff? Will I need to de-level my char and level up again ingame?

I've tried doing some testing, but since I don't understand 99% of what's going on in the Effects tab, I'm struggling to figure out how it works.

Hope someone can help me, thank you in advance.

When you level up, any kit effects or abilities for your new level(s) are applied. Kit effects and abilities from old levels remain in place, as do effects and abilities that aren't associated with any kit you have right now. (So if you're cheating in a multikit like this, you just have to apply the new level.)

When an NPC leaves the party, all kit effects and abilities are removed. When they rejoin the party, all kit effects and abilities for their current level are reapplied.

Some abilities don't transfer when you add a kit to a multi-class. The extra backstab damage for assassins at higher levels (the 6x and 7x) is lost. Also the swashbuckler isn't allowed to add the extra pip in melee weapons. There are probably more, but those two are for sure.
