Max XP on level v/s Dice HP on level

Since I am almost max level in the game, I decided to show you the rolls of my core party when playing without Max HP on level. (For comparison what should have been if choose Max HP)

- self thief level 10 HP 60 (80)
- Dorn level 8 HP 57 (80)
- Kagain level 8 HP 93 (120)
- Branwen level 8 HP 60 (69)
- Coran level 7 figther level 8 thief HP 59 (62)
- Edwin level 9 HP 47 (54)

I looked up some enemies HP as well, for example Ragefast and Ramazith. They don't have max HP on level as well. They don't roll dice though, their HP is preset and is below the maximum value for their level. So I guess this levels up the field then.

The rules for rolling hit dice, as a PC:
    - Roll with advantage; take the better of two attempts.
    - For multiclass characters leveling during gameplay, roll that class's level and halve the result, rounding down with a minimum of 1. So for Coran's next level of fighter 7, he rolls d10/2 with advantage; 5 if that's a 10 (19% chance), 4 if that's 8 or 9 (32% chance), 3 if that's 6 or 7 (24% chance), 2 if that's 4 or 5 (16% chance), 1 if that's 1, 2, or 3 (9% chance).
    - CON modifiers are applied after everything else, and can change dynamically.
    - There's an overall minimum of 1 max HP per level after all modifiers.
    - Level 1 is never rolled and always gets the maximum.
    - For multiclass characters during character creation, don't round down until you add up all the levels. So a level 1 FMT has (10+8+6)/3=8 base HP rather than (10/3+8/3+6/3)=7.

    So for your party ...
Protagonist: 35/54 possible HP before CON. That's 29 on the eight rolled levels. A d6 with advantage averages about 4.47; you're about 7 HP below average. Pretty bad luck there.
Dorn: 51/70 possible before CON, 41 on the six rolled levels. A d10 with advantage averages 7.15, which puts him at about 2 HP below average.
Kagain: 47/70 possible before CON, 37 on the six rolled levels. Same math as Dorn, so he's 6 HP below average. Lousy luck obscured by his extremely high CON bonus.
Branwen: 52/64 possible before CON. She starts at level 2 with 15 base HP, so that's 37 on the six rolled levels. A d8 with advantage averages about 5.81, and she rolled well with about 2 HP above average.
Coran: 53/65 possible before CON. Except that he starts at level 3/3 with an illegally high 27 HP out of 24 possible. So that's 26 total on the three rolled fighter levels and four rolled thief levels. The halved d6 averages about 2.06 and the halved d10 averages 3.36, so he's about 8 HP above average. Very good rolls there.
Edwin: 25/32 possible before CON, so he's at 21 on the seven rolled levels. A d4 with advantage averages 3.125, and his rolls are almost exactly average.

So - bad luck rolling your protagonist and Kagain, good luck with Coran.

Updated. I also reached max levels now, except Coran. After the update indeed Coran' rolls are almost perfect.
