Character model based on the armor, not in the class.

Many armor or clothes are showing in the character model based on the class. Not in the armor or clothing. For me this is a bug. Everything would have to be represented equal for all character models. For example many elven chainmails for a bard or many armors or clothing for multiclass. Which are shown in the character model like naked and never as if they were dressed in armor.

    The devs cannot alter existing character animations in any way because the source art assets have been lost.

    @AndreaColombo Who is talking about changing animations? Just say that if it's the class you are when you wear a suit of armor, be represented as such

    @Kharador You mean you want (example) an elven bard wearing a chainmail, to look the same as an elven fighter wearing chain? (paper doll and ingame animation) Should work, no animations would be changed, just swapped for existing ones.

    The downside to this would be classes loosing their "distinct look", becoming harder to recognize for what they are. When you face an enemy thief/bard for instance, you can immediately identify their class by their hoods.

    Ideally, the animations COULD be changed and we'd get a unique look for bards wearing chain etc. but yeah, as @AndreaColombo pointed out, that's simply not possible at this point.

    this feature should be closed by default on settings if ever be implemented, imho.

    I think the BG2 Tweakpack has an option to do just that, so it shouldn't be that hard to implement.

    @Winthal Exactly!! That's the point!!

    @Shrimp that fix adds an effect to every armor, robe, etc. in the game to switch the avatar, so it might even be decided on a per-item basis.

    @wbouvy I hope they implement this changes because I think this is essential and should be possible.

    @Kharador I disagree about it being essential; I wonder whether making enemies less recognizable is a good idea. In my opinion, it's optional at best.

    How about only applying this to the party?

    If it's really on a "per item" basis, like you said, this would be impossible. Unless enemies drop items they don't have equipped, or their sprites don't depend on their equipment ?

    @Shrimp Why impossible? I think that's easy. You only have to change the clothing right. It's only a paperdoll change...

    Tweaks and scripts (like the "Avatar Morphing Script") to do that already exist, so this should be easy to implement.
    In EE the preference class vs. equipment should be an in-game character option that can be set for each character (including joinable NPCs).

    @Lunever Totally agree. I knew there was a mod that added but could not remember which. I agree that should be easy
