Modding question about Baldur's Gate 1: Enhanced Edition (GOG)

Hi there!

I'm new to Baldur's Gate modding however I was kinda curious if you could create new sprites from scratch and use them in the game for playable characters. I know I would need to maybe create a new class or race with that sprite and then maybe use EEkeeper to change the appearance of that character, also I don't mind if that model body doesn't change with armor like the playable ones do.

So then, you know any tutorial or info that may give me insight into the matter of doing new sprites for Baldur's Gate EE and the limitations, size, number of frames, etc... required or recommended?
