Severe Lag After Newest Update

Hey guys,
After the newest update 88.8193.36-11, I get a noticeable lag whenever moving, but no fps loss. The character sort of randomly freezes/unfreezes mid step, I guess as the game is loading assets, but I got smooth sailing before the update.
This also happens with the new HDR option switched off. In fact, I still get it on the lowest setting, albeit a little less noticeable. No Mods, or HD pack installed.
Is there any way I could go back to the older version (on GoG), or any other tips?:)
Additionally, the issue was so bad I went back to the Diamond edition and noticed that there are missing effects in the EE, like the falling leaves around Nyatar’s tree in the City Core. It’s no biggie, just been playing the EE so much and now I’m wondering maybe there’s an option I forgot to turn on?
