Is there any way to increase the dialogue history kept?

Quest dialogues and combat messages are shown and stored in the main message window.
Unfortunately the history size is very limited to something like 100 lines and I'd like to increase the size of the history to something like 1000 or 10000 lines.
Is there any way I can achieve this with modding?
