Lossless Scaling

Here is a link to lossless scaling. This will allow you to turn off full screen mode in Baldur's gate and choose your own method of upscaling. This will allow Nvidia AI upscaling with a sharpening option and AMD's FSR as well as sharp bicubic, XBR and many others. This will let you enable frame generation in any video game which will allow you to play Baldur's gate at 90 FPS without it being in fast forward mode. When you move the camera, all of the small details from the backdrops will stay clear due to the higher FPS. The game looks and plays much better with this and the sprite animations are so much more smooth and modern looking.

I recommend AMD's Super Resolution with sharpening maxed out. Use a custom scale mode of 1 and make sure the resize before scaling option is enabled. Set frame generation to LSFG 2.1 and enable 3x frame generation mode. If you own an Nvidia card you can enable DLDSR on top of it which can be accessed from the Nvidia control panel. Enabling DSR or DLDSR will enable a smoothness slider that will appear right below the DSR option in the Nvidia control panel and then you can further customize the sharpness with that. If you set a custom desktop resolution of 2.5 DLDSR, it will render the game at higher resolution and then AI downscale it which will anti alias the sprites and denoise the backdrops. One last thing, set refresh rate to max in the lossless scaling app and enable G-sync in the Nvidia control panel if you have a capable monitor. If you get any screen tearing or you don't have G-sync then I would suggest enabling V-sync through the lossless scaling app or graphics control panel for your GPU.
