BG2EE Black screen after character creation when starting a new game

I am able to import my character and finish the character creation or create a new character. Then my character is taking damage (screen is black or gayish but there is a sound of taking hits) the little Baldur's Gate cutscene happens (with the hand turning to magic dust), and then the screen just stays black and nothing happens.

Steam version 2.6.6.0
Win10
16 GB RAM
i5-8600K
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB

BG1EE and IWDEE works fine, nothing like the above happens there - only in BG2EE - I tried reinstalling the game but the problem still occurs

    I am able to start ToB game but not SoA

    I clicked 'M' and I can see that I am at some type of location bit cant view my character or do anything

    There is no cursor and even if I am able to click in the 'right' place on map on clicking 'M' again there is again black screen

    but for sure my character starts in wrong location or smth for some reason
