Attacking the crusader camp in Dragonspear Castle Exterior area early

in Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear
Hi, I'm playing through SoD for the first time and I'm trying to clear the crusader camp in the Dragonspear Castle Exterior area early (I didn't get into the castle proper through the Warrens and didn't place the bomb yet) but it seems that generic crusaders keep respawning endlessly.

Is it something I can actually do or should I not bother trying? Playing on Core Rules diffuculty btw.
