I prefer the original BG1 sprites.

I never liked the sprites in Baldur's Gate 2; When Baldurs Gate EE came out, I was disappointed to see that it used those sprites for the characters...
The armor, helmets, mage robes, everything looked better in the Original BG1...
Does anyone else think about it? It may seem silly but this, among other things that I'm not going to comment on now... has ruined the memories I had of the game, to the point of not playing the EE for this game anymore and returning to the Original Saga.
When I play an old game, I like it to look like an old game, not like an attempt to look newer; for that, there are many current games.
Just saying...

Why should I use mods when I can play the original game as it is?
By the way, BG2 was released two years after BG1, so BG1EE still looks like an "old game" with the BG2 engine...
But the biggest thing by far, the EE is so much more stable and faster, and numerous QOL improvements. Not to mention a much bigger library of mods now.
There’s no way I’d go back.
Good. If I play an old game like Baldur's Gate, I want to play the original, not mods and 'EE' versions. If I have to do that... I'd rather play another game.

BG1 is going for 4 dollars right now and BG2 2 dollars on GOG.
After BG2 came out a lot of us just used the TuTu mod which helped merge the games and brought BG1 into the BG2 engine. This allowed you to, for example, use new classes
and kits introduced in BG2 while playing BG1.
This was important if you wanted to play any of the new additions while starting your character from BG1. I believe this is one of the biggest reasons the EE versions use the BG2 engine. But luckily you can still play the originals if you want for a couple of bucks. Just keep in mind you won’t have access to any of the classes, class kits, or abilities (such as dual wielding)that were introduced in BG2. Ammo like arrows I believe will only stack to 20. No gem bags, potion bags, or scroll cases. And a lot of bugs that have since been fixed. It will also be much more complicated to get it to work on a modern OS and more difficult to import your character to BG2.
Though there’s a few things, like summons, that got heavily nerfed in BG2 that were absolutely busted in the original BG1.
Hello.
I know, I played the EE version of BG1 a few times, but I still prefer the originals. I don't think all that "QoL" stuff is that important to me. Less is more. The only thing I found that might be interesting was LoB mode, because I love HOF mode in IWD2, but after beating it, I discovered that the "Very Hard" difficulty in the original was actually harder than LoB because new kits, summons with tons of life to tank, etc., they make things easier.
I tried to play the SoD expansion but I forgot to continue playing because it's so boring (for me). I guess I'll play it one day, but I bought it when it was released and I still can't continue xD. And Black Pits... I'm not really interested in it, but I'll give it a try, I guess.
I know there was this TUTU mod and stuff years ago, but I never installed it because I prefer the original BG1 engine, sprites, etc. and I don't like using any mod.
Yes, I have the Original Saga of BG1, I'm already playing it; I was lucky to get a 101 point elf fighter/mage and I'm having fun so far.
