Pickpocket Question

So I am playing / recording my very first playthrough of this game. It's taken me 25 years to finally give the game a chance. I am LOVING it!! My playthrough is save scum free except for 2 things. Failing to learn spells (if that is even a thing, so far it doesn't seem to be) and failing to pickpocket. Like BG1 and 2, failing to pickpocket is just too punishing for my liking / enjoyment.
I tested pickpocketing with Annah in my last recording. I got her to 95% PP and she failed repeatedly on the 2nd and sometimes on the first pickpocket on a vendor. I was pickpocketing Mebbeth for Dirty Rat Charms. At 95%, I only managed to get 2 charms after about... 8-9 reloads. That melted my brain.
So I am curious, what percentage do I need to get my PP to so failure isn't a thing, or to it's lowest possible chance of failure? My only experience with this kind of thing is from BG1 and 2. I know there are differences, but it feels fairly similar.
Thanks
