Training area, stuck

Just purchased the enhanced edition from steam today. When I completed the training, I still could not leave the training area. Kept getting the message "You can't leave now."
What can I do to fix this?

    If you're doing the mage challenge, this might help:
    You're not supposed to destroy the combat dummy for the mage challenge - you're supposed to destroy the statue in front of it ...

    You have to make sure that whoever is in charge of training has spoken to you again to acknowledge your training as being complete, so if you haven't done that, just go back and talk to them again.
