The game has overwritten my recent quick saves with old ones.

I ran the game today, clicked 'continue', and after loading, I realized I wasn't where I had stopped playing. I was in a different location, my team was a level lower than I used to be and journal had missing quests.

I immediately checked the "Documents\Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition\save" folder and discovered that all the saves had been modified with timestamps matching the moment I launched the game today. Fortunately, the game makes separate saves at the start of each chapter, but all the quick saves are messed up. The save thumbnails don't match the actual save states.

Why would the game do that? Why would it even touch the save files?

When I load the save folder in EE Keeper Quick-Save-2 has two states:
one from October 20 - incorrect, overwritten
one from October 18 - correct, but when I load it, it loads the incorrect one

Why baldur.gam and baldur.sav was modified today (20 October)?

Edit. I did reinstall one mod shortly before I ran the game, so looks like it was probably WeiDU and its automatic mod reinstallation that has caused this havoc. I recall using a mod that could patch save files, but apparently, once I confirmed this option the first time I installed it, it remembered my choice permanently. As a result, I wasn't prompted to confirm the patching of my existing saves today - WeiDU went ahead and did it automatically today again. RIP my quick saves.

Interestingly, WeiDU automatically created a backup before applying the patch in weidu_external\backup\nostalgiapack\21\, but it's from from the moment AFTER the patch has messed it up, not BEFORE, so it's useless -_-

Strangely, only quick saves and auto saves were borked, but why? And it restored really old versions of them (I make quick saves very often). It didn't restore a save from few quick saves back. It overwritten the most recent quick save with a save from a previous day or two! I'm talking about 10 hours of playthrough. There must have been like dozens of quick saves between them. Where would these old versions come from? I didn't do any manual saves. It's just as if old save versions were still carried over inside new saves in same files...? It seems like it's related to a mysterious quick save rotation bug in BGEE itself.
