Watcher's Keep Lum the Mad torches question

.....I have a VERY old edition of BG. On the Lum the Mad level of Watcher's Keep there are 6 torches that have to be lit to go lower. I know there are supposed to be 3 colored oils: red, blu. and purple. However, I can find no purple oil even after looking where it is supposed to be (Illithid encampment). Also, there are no triangles on the floor of the room showing torch positions.
.....Is it possible that I have such an old game edition that there are in fact only 2 colors of oils to be used? I tried lighting a torch with red and then adding blue to make purple, but that isn't an option. Or is it possible that my game is bugged somehow?
.....I got this game years ago, and actually played it through all the way, so I must have solved the problem somehow, but it's been so long that I can't remember. Any help would be appreciated.

I’ve been playing since it was new, I’ve never heard of this glitch. Of course that proves nothing, but my bet would be you’ve misplaced it.

Huh, OK I have an old save, I can try reloading and looking again. But as I said, there are supposed to be markings on the floor showing the torch lighting solution, but they don't exist either. Since I have in fact solved this pusslze before, if you are correct about all three oils being needed, it's possible my game files may have become corrupted. I'll have to check file integrity and see what that reveals. Thank you for your input.

When I get back to the house after work this evening, I will check on the location of the purple oil. There are three side directions from the main Machine room; you cleared all three of those sections?

Ah--it's in the area with the Gith anti-paladins, on your way down to Saladrex. Check there.

.....Yes, I actually found the thing on my own. I had thought I had cleared out that room, but the Githyanki captain was sort of hidden by some giant statue, and I never saw him on my prior run through. I know this because I didn't have his weapon either, and I do now. Luckily I had a prior saved game I could load. and did the Illithid and Githyanki areas a second time. So now I have the pruple oil as well as the others.
.....As an aside, I am doing an all evil run through this time around, just for lols. Myself (half-orc berserker), Dorn, Hexxat, Edwin, Viconia and Sarevok. Our reputation is 4, we are universally despised, and the group couldn't be happier. Even dour Edwi makes the occasional appoving comment. Needless to say, I have zero intention of reforming Sarevok or changing his alignment.
.....Again, thanks for your assistance. Your input was the reason I went back and did the Lum the Mad level again. Ciao.
