Decisions, decisions ...

Edwin finally hit level 20, which gives him the choice of a number of abilities. I made my decision, but I am curious to see your opinions.
1) An extra level 6 spell. Worst choice IMO; he has a bunch of level 6 spells already. One more seems sort of .... meh.
2) Improved alacrity. OK, for anyone else this might be a reasonable choice, but he's already packing not 1 but 2 Time Stops. Sort of makes Alacrity redundant. Also the casting time for Alacrity is NINE. Just too damned slow.
3 )Dragons breath. VERY tempting; low casting time, and other party members are not affected by the spells. He could toss it at the front line/melee combat area and not incinerate the other party members. The big drawback here is the large number of enemies who are immune to fire.
4) Energy blades. Also tempting. Low casting time, gives a bunch of attacks, and does electical damage. Some enemies may be resistant to electical attacks, but not as many as the fire resistant ones. The problem here is that he has to actually attack the foe; even a +10 THACO isn't great for a wizard. On the plus side, he doesn't actually HAVE to attack with them, it's just an option. He could choose to cast a spell or do something else instead.
5) I dithered for a while but finally went with energy blades; seemed the most flexible choice. Comments welcome.
