.....OK, so we scored the two hearts and went back to the Temple. To no one's particular surprise, whazzername turned against us once she had her heart back. Well, to be frank, I didn't KNOW this would happen, but supposed allies turning against us and trying to stab us in the back is sort of a meme by now. Not a huge surprise, so I deployed my troops ahead of time in such a way as to nullify this action and open up opportunity to counterattack. Scrag one bimbo witch.
.....Next stop, the siege camp! Or so I thought. Not being a total idiot, I summoned the usual army of skeletal wariors at the start of the mission. We proceeded to head west across the bridge (the only way into the siege camp) and that's when the feces hit the rotating air circulation device. Yaga Shura soldiers. Yaga Shura officers, and bloody Fire Giants started dropping down from the skies. Apparently they can just teleport to us, which makes it difficult to establish any sort of defensive lines.
.....Now, I had scored the +4 ravager and upgraded it to Ravager +6. Ravager +6 plus greater whirlwind = dead fire giant. Dorn also had learned greater whirlwind, so bewteen the two of us we tore through the fire giants. For a while. But they kept teleporting in, with apparently no end to their numbers. I finally had us fight our way back to the east end of the bridge and run back to the Temple area with our tails between our legs, intending to respell and regroup.
.....Now, it occurred to me after this debacle that maybe the way to get to Yaga-Shura is to fight our way to the West end of the bridge. It's going to be a real slog, but if we toss enough summoned critters behind us to delay the pursuit, it might just work. Basically, we are gonna run like bunnies for the west end of the bridge and not fight anything, while our summoned sacrificial lambs ... err, I mean valiant allies ... delay the pursuit. But I'd really like to know how those bozos can just paradrop into our midst. This is never hinted at as being one of their abilities.

.....Fire Giants are among the larger of the giant species; certainly a lot taller than, say, Hill Giants. They are what? 14 ft. tall? Taller? They aren't exactly built for stealth in any case. We should see them coming, and have at least 1 combat round, maybe even 2, to hit them with mmissile weapons, spells or other ranged effects. Maybe even drop some summoned critters in their path to delay them. But no, we don't have any such options. I call shennanigans!
