Siege of Dragonspear: Edwin's Tale of Woe

Hello, I have a question about Edwin's quest in SoD. I'm on my 2nd playthrough of SoD and travelling with Edwin this time as I didn't bother at all with him in my 1st playthrough. I'm really glad I picked him for my 2nd playthrough, but I was wondering: when we meet Vichand at the Bridgefort camp and I'm completing the Call of the Wild Mage and the Creeping Darkness quests, I then opted not to kill Vichand at the camp (it just didn't feel right doing it in cold blood) and so then Edwin's quest updates to something like, 'if we kill Vichand in combat, Edwin will be extremely grateful' or something. So, then I finished up at Bridgefort but instead of having a battle, I chose the negotiating the surrender option, and so the crusaders dispersed and gave up Bridgefort. I then kind of thought we'd meet Vichand somewhere else down the line - like in the battles at the Coalition Camp after the Parley, or in the outer keep of Dragonspear, like The Barghest or Ashatiel encounters, and now I've reached the endgame and now realise that after Bridgefort, Vichand doesn't seem to appear anywhere else later in the game. Is that correct, or have I missed another location where Vichand turns up? Can anyone confirm? Thank you!

Indeed, Vichand does not appear again. Presumably, he stays at the Bridgefort as part of its new garrison after the surrender.

It's the problem with evil NPC, they tend to ask you doing not right things. Edwin also asks you to murder someone in BG2.
A wait until you try Dorn in BG2... ^^

Thank you very much for confirming! Yes, I thought that would be it - but I wanted to be completely certain that I hadn't missed Vichand popping up anywhere else, before I went onwards to the final showdown in Avernus. I guess I was sort of expecting Vichand to appear in a side-confrontation at Dragonspear, or in the main battle itself, because I also have Dorn in my party and he'd been asked to kill Hormorn, plus he also had beef with The Barghest and you meet both those guys in the final battles at Dragonspear, but not so with Vichand. It's OK. I can live without completing Edwin's quest and I did have a sneaky look at what reward you get if you do kill Vichand and since it's a fire resistance/fire damage buffs robe, I'm not that bothered as I already have plenty of fire protection stuff and any offensive fire abilities are no good when you get to Avernus anyway. So thank you so much for answering my question! - it's really appreciated as I didn't want to miss out on any encounters before I finished SoD.

Ha ha!!!! Thank you very much for your reply! Yes, I guess my play style is that I prefer to play a Good character - NG/CG mainly - but I love all the evil NPCs so much across BG1 & 2 because they're so funny, interesting and charismatic. In my 1st playthrough I loved having Baeloth, Viconia and Hexxat the most and Dorn a little bit in BG1. I guess the thing about Baeloth, Viconia and Hexxat is they just employ devastating and sarcastic put-downs and that's about as bad as it gets - there's no requests from them to kill anyone! So for my 2nd playthrough I'm definitely going to choose the evil NPCs I didn't have in my party the 1st time around to explore some questlines I missed on my 1st playthrough. So as I head into BG2 I want to recruit Dorn & Edwin again and see where their storylines go and so if this means I have to flex my morality even more as I go to BG2, then, I guess that's what it'll have to be!
