Bardic spell limitations

..... I know certain types of spell casters can't learn some spells. Edwin, for example, cannot learn identify spell, or even use an idenitfy scroll. I am currently running a Bard through SoA, and there are some spells I can't seem to learn. Blindness, Ghist Armor amd acouple of others; I have the scrolls, but can't copy them to my spellbook.
.....Now, I find this especially odd becasue I WAS able to learn Ghost Armor in ToB. Are the two games that differently coded? I wouldn't be surprised. The plot of ToB is pretty linear, while SoA is all over the place, with options branching out chaotically. But it would be nice to know what's going on.

Delete your copy of the game. Download a new copy and reinstall. That's about all I can say to the ridiculous levels of broken-ness you keep bringing up.

There are no restrictions on which arcane spells a bard can learn. They can even learn spells that they'll never have the slots to cast.

Possible you have hit the intelligence cap on spells per level? And got an intelligence boost somewhere in ToB?

Or maybe that. I always use INT-boosting potions for my spell-learning sprees (since I need them anyway to deal with the fail chances), and boosting INT (24+ if the character has a kit, 23+ if they don't) lifts that limit as well.

Ya if so, he can test it by either drinking those potions or deleting spells from his spellbook. If that doesn't work then the re-install advice is probably correct.

Oh Buggery! My Int in SoA is currently 14, while in ToB it is 18. Clearly a significant difference. How did I not notice this? OK, thanks for bringing this to my attention.
