.....OK, I sent my Bard to the sewers to rescue Haer D'Aelis from Mekrath. Easy quest, right? Wrong! After defeating an entire crew of seriously bad yahoos .... oh, and a random Raksasha who dropped in out of nowhere, along with his Kobold Commando buddies ... I found a secret door, but couldn't open it. I spent quite a while searching the area, figuring one of the goons we geeked had been carrying the key, but no luck.
.....I finally gave up on it and cheated by Googling to find where the key was located. For no comprehensible reason the key is nowhere in Akathla; instead, it's in the Windspear Hills with ... Firkraag?? What the heck? This seems particularly random. Yes, I had intended to head there eventually, as part of the Free the Dryads quest, but not for quite a while. So much for doing quests in some sort of logical order.
Where does it say that this folder is only about BG1? My Google search calls this Beamdog: Enhanced Edition, for questions about the game. It even warns readersa that spoilers may be included.
Here is what the title of the folder says when I go to it. >Discuss Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition here! (Warning: Spoilers Within.)<
OK, I see it now. You are correct; however, let's be accurate. It's 28 topics down on the list; easy to miss if you aren't loking for it. I will redirect my posts in the future.

That locked door is not related to Mekrath lair. The one you seek is more on the left.
Also, probably too late now, but you have been posting questions about BG2/TOB in the BG1 forum for quite a while now.

It's a bit difficult to get this far in life without learning how to count to two.
