Wild Forest bugs?

.....OK, I am doing the various minor side quests in the Refuge before heading off to meet with Daxus. I have done them all except for 2. Barad Ding has lost 8 cats; I could swear I recovered all 8, but there is no way to check if my memory is correct or not; no numerical tally is kept. I have now made 3 sweeps of the entire Forest, and seen no more feral cats running free. Yet Ding insists that the quest is not finished. Not a big deal, a minor quest with a minor reward.
.....More annoying is looking for Amani Kithal's lost son. I have completely scoured every single foot of the Forest, and there is no sign of him whatsoever. And yes, I even found the invisible ford to the north; I checked out the far shore, and nada. I did the verify file integrity thing, and I am told everything is fine. I'll give it one more try, then head off to the Bridge district to get Daxus.

.....OK, never mind; I fouund the little truant. Gods, the lighting in that part of Forest is terrible! I would never have seen the kid at all, except that on the final search I kept hitting the Tab key every 5 seconds. Without that, he's nearly invisible unless you physically bump into him by accident. Still no sign of any wandering feral cats, though.
.....Addendum: AH, I see the problem now. I thought I saw 8 cats in the refuge, but using the tab key, I could see that only 7 of the animals running around were cats; the eighth one was a damned groundhog. I must have missed one somewhere. Guess I'll do another sweep the same way I found the kid; pause every few seconds and hit tab. How tedious!
.....Addendum 2: My there's a lot of wildlife running around; rabbits, squirrels, groundhogs ... and with that lighting, I would never have found that last cat if I didn't stop and hit tab key every few seconds. A tedious quest, and a pathetic reward. A bell that wakes you up? That seems a bit dodgy. What happens if the person carrying the bell is one of those who have fallen asleep?

You don't need to keep hitting tab key. On the interface there is a button allowing you to have it permanently displayed.
Much easier to spot lost kid, secret hidings and even crazy cats. ^^
