Hi people

i have some questions about "Dispel Magic":

level 20 inquisitor dispel caster level = 40?

level 34 inquisitor dispel caster level = 40?

level 26 bard dispel caster level = 26?

level 40 bard dispel caster level = 40?

if i reduce inquisitor's 2x dispel level multiplier to 1,5x with SCS mod, will it be capped at caster level 30 or will it continiue to grow till 40?

does SCS mod somehow affect bard's dispel levels?

so, as i am told, in case of SCS 1,5x mod it was capped at level 30 but in latest version it progresses till caster level 40

Regarding bards, bards just cast a normal arcane "Dispel Magic" or "Remove Magic". Those have a dispel level equal to (arcane) caster level. Which is normally just your level as a bard, but mods could introduce equipment/abilities that modify arcane or divine caster level. (SCS is not such a mod)

There are basically three ways a dispel effect can work:
- Dispel level = caster level
- Dispel level = specified level
- Always dispel

All three of those modes come up in the BG series. Most versions of "Dispel Magic" or "Remove Magic" use the first mode. Inquisitor dispel and some items use the second mode. Arrows of Dispelling, the Staff of the Magi, and some cutscene effects use the third mode.
